Big action of Income Tax Department: 41 properties attached to Shiv Sena leader Yashwant Jadhav, 5 crore flats also included

Big action of Income Tax Department:

Mumbai, ANI. The Income Tax Department has attached 41 properties, including a flat worth Rs 5 crore, of Yashwant Jadhav, Shiv Sena leader and former chairman of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) standing committee, in a case of alleged tax evasion. The attached properties include 31 flats in Bilkhadi Chamber Building in Byculla, flats worth Rs 5 crore in Bandra and Hotel Crown Imperial in Byculla.

Officials suspect that Jadhav has bought all the properties when he was the chairman of the standing committee of BMC. Sources in the department said that the attached properties are registered in the name of Yashwant Jadhav and his family members and close associates. The hotel has been named after Sunanda Mohite, mother of Shiv Sena MLA and Jadhav's wife Yamini Jadhav. The Income Tax Department had summoned close aides of Shiv Sena leaders Vilas Mohite and Vineet Jadhav to record their statements, but none of them appeared there.

According to information received from sources, Vilas Mohite used to oversee the work of Yashwant Jadhav's BMC, while Vineet Jadhav was the director of Bimal Agarwal's company Newshawk Multimedia Pvt Ltd. Let us tell you that Bimal Aggarwal is the same person whose name came up in the Parambir Singh extortion case.

Significantly, on April 5, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached the assets of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut in the Rs 1,034 crore Patra Chal land scam case. As part of this action, the ED attached Sanjay Raut's Alibaug plot and a flat in Dadar.

On this Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had said that am I Vijay Mallya, Mehul Choksi, Nirav Modi or Ambani-Adani? Whether our property is confiscated, shot or sent to jail, we will not be afraid. There is an attempt to keep quiet for two years, what kept quiet? Whoever wants to jump, dance, let him dance. Time will tell what is truth and what is false.
